New Edge Products Engineering took on the challenge to design and manufacture a product that is life changing for those in wheelchairs. We needed to take in account the varied heights and weights of children & adults. It needed to adapt to all models of toilets, and have the option to be installed on the wall or easily slide into place behind the toilet. In addition, a foldable mobile unit was required for traveling.
Pants Up Easy was invented by Douglas Pearson, for his close friend Paul Degroot, a wheelchair user with paraplegia as a result of a spinal cord injury. This is a device helps people in wheelchairs get dressed and regain their independence.
